327 govt primary schools have only one classroom, Minister tells Assembly

Minister for Primary, Secondary and Adult Education, Kuber Dindor, shared the information in a written reply to a starred question by Congress MLA from Danilimda constituency, Shailesh Parmar.

There are 327 government primary schools in Gujarat which have only one classroom, the state government informed the Gujarat Assembly on Wednesday.

Minister for Primary, Secondary and Adult Education, Kuber Dindor, shared the information in a written reply to a starred question by Congress MLA from Danilimda constituency, Shailesh Parmar.

As per the reply, these schools have only one classroom owing to the less number of students and teachers , and non-availability of land.

Parmar on Wednesday also sought to know as to when new classrooms will be built so that students’ education is not affected.

In its response, the government said that classrooms will be built “expeditiously in coming years in a phased manner”.
