MRF becomes first stock on Dalal Street to hit Rs 1 lakh per share mark

For the first time in India, the share price of a company crossed the Rs 1 lakh mark on Tuesday (June 13). Tyre company MRF became the first stock in India to cross the Rs 1 lakh mark per share after its share jumped 1.07 per cent in early trade today.

MRF’s stock opened today at Rs 99,500 on BSE, against its previous close of Rs 98,939.70 on Monday. After that, MRF’s share price touched an all-time high of Rs 1,00,300 in morning trade.

The stock closed 1.02 per cent higher at Rs 99950.65 on BSE.

MRF’s share price has surged nearly 45 per cent in the past year, as compared to a rise of 19 per cent in the BSE benchmark Sensex.

On June 17, 2022, the company’s share price hit its 52-week low of Rs 65,900.05 on BSE. However, since then, MRF’s stock has surged 52 per cent to date.

MRF’s consolidated profit after tax (PAT) in the January-March quarter jumped 86 per cent year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 313.53 crore, from Rs 168.53 crore in the same quarter of FY22.

The company’s consolidated revenue from operations in the same quarter jumped over 10 per cent YoY to Rs 5,841.7 crore from Rs 5,304.8 crore in Q4FY22.
