Every enterprise must have an 'India First' vision to participate in this market: Mukesh Ambani Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani

Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani Thursday stated that India will demonstrate the “greatest digital transformation” in the world history, insisting that all companies vying a position in this market need to develop an ‘India First’ vision.

“We will need to reinvent to grow and nurture this market to its full potential. To achieve this… we need a grand coalition – of everyone in the industry, government, civil society and the citizens,” the Reliance Chairman said while addressing the India Mobile Congress in New Delhi.

Crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi with “galvanising” the country, Ambani said India is “ready not only to embrace but to lead the Fourth Industrial Revolution.” The Fourth Industrial Revolution, he said, would help realise the four goals of PM Modi – doubling farmer’s income, realising the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, quality education and jobs for the youth.

“This is because, each one of the 130 crore people of India… can now productively participate in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. We can solve the largest unsolved problems facing humanity… right here in India,” he said.

Stressing on the growth of telecom sector in the country, Ambani said that India’s future will be founded on pillars of “connectivity, computing and data” and will be powered by “path-breaking digital technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Blockchain, Internet of Things, Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality…” “This Revolution will open the floodgates of limitless possibilities for 130 crore connected Indians,” he added.

Talking about the growth of the telecom sector in the country, Ambani said India has shown the “fastest transition from 2G/3G to 4G anywhere in the world.” “India has moved from 155th rank in mobile broadband penetration to being the number 1 nation in mobile data consumption in the world in less than two years. By 2020, I believe that India will be a fully-4G country… and ready for 5G ahead of others.”
