FMCG major Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) has posted a 5.72 per cent decline in net profit at Rs 2,406 crore for the quarter ended March 2024 (Q4) as against Rs 2,552 crore in the same period of last year. Revenue for the quarter was Rs 15,077 crore as against Rs 15,053 crore a year ago. The company’s turnover for the financial year ended March 2024 was Rs 59,579 crore as against turnover of Rs 58,154 crore for the year ended March, 2023.
For the full FY24, net profit increased to Rs 10,114 crore as against Rs 9,962 crore last year. The board has recommended a final dividend of Rs 24 for the financial year ended March 2024 on equity shares of Re one each. It had earlier paid an interim dividend of Rs 18 per share.
Rohit Jawa, CEO and Managing Director, said: “In FY24, we delivered a resilient performance with 3 per cent USG and crossed Rs 10,000 crore net profit mark. We remain focused on driving operational excellence and have continued to build back our gross margins whilst stepping up investment in brands and long-term capabilities. Looking forward, I am optimistic of consumer demand gradually improving due to a normal monsoon and better macro-economic indicators.”

The company’s homecare segment, its biggest one, which houses brands like Surf Excel and Comfort, posted mid-single-digit percentage volume growth led by outperformance in Vim liquid.
HUL said BP Biddappa will join the HUL Management Committee as Executive Director, Human Resources and Chief People, Transformation and Sustainability Officer for South Asia. Biddappa will also join the HUL board as a Whole Time Director, subject to shareholder approval. Anuradha Razdan, currently Executive Director, Human Resources, HUL and Chief HR Officer, South Asia will be appointed to a global role as Chief Reward & Organization Development Officer for Unilever. This change will be effective June 1, 2024.
