Gur prices drifted by Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today on fresh supply against slackness in demand. Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur market also ended weak in the absence of buying support and registered losses upto Rs 100 per quintal. Marketmen said regular supply of new stocks against weak demand from retailers and stockist mainly pulled down gur prices. Lower neighbouring states advices also influenced the trading sentiments,they added. In Delhi,gur shakkar prices plummeted by Rs 200 to finish at Rs 3,700-3,850 from Rs 3,900-3,950 per quintal,while pedi prices tumbled from Rs 3,700-3,800 to settle at Rs 3,550-3,650 per quintal. Gur dhayya and chakku prices also fell from Rs 3,550-3,800 and Rs 3,150-3,200 to Rs 3,650-3,700 and Rs 3,100-3,150 per quintal. At Muradnagar,gur chakku and khurpa prices slipped from Rs 2,875-2,975 and Rs 2,950-3,000 to close at Rs 2,800-2,850 and Rs 2,850-2,950 per quintal. Gur raskat prices too moved down from Rs 2,800-2,875 to Rs 2,750-2,800 per quintal on poor offtake by alcohol and cattle-feed making industries. Turning to Muradnagar,gur pedi and dhayya prices were asked lower at Rs 3,200- 3,250 and Rs 3,250-3,300 instead of Rs 3,250-3,350 and Rs 3,350-3,400 per quintal. The following are today's quotations per quintal: Gur chakku 3,100-3,150,pedi 3,550-3,650,dhayya 3,650-3,700 and shakkar 3,700-3,800. Muzaffarnagar: Raskat 2,750-2,800,chakku 2,800-2,850 and khurpa 2850-2950. Muradnagar: Pedi 3200-3250 and dhayya 3250-3300.
