Base metals remain weak on subdued demand

Base metals remained weak and prices fell by Rs 2 per kg in the local non-ferrous metal market.

Base metals remained weak and prices fell by Rs 2 per kg in the local non-ferrous metal market today on subdued demand from consuming industries amid a weak global trend.

Traders said subdued industrial demand amid a weakening global trend mainly kept pressure on base metals.

In the national capital,copper mixed,zinc ingot remained weak and shed Rs 2 each to Rs 106-110 and Rs 395,while nickel (4×4) traded lower by the same margin to Rs 1,023-1,026 per kg,respectively.

Lead ingot and lead imported were also weakened by Rs 2 each to Rs 130 and Rs 128 per kg,respectively.

The following are metal rates per kg: Zinc ingot 106-110,nickel plate (4×4) 1,023-1,026,gun metal scrap 227,bell metal scrap 229,copper mixed scrap 395,chadri deshi 285.

Lead ingot 130,lead imported 128,aluminium ingots 133,sheet cutting 134,aluminium wire scrap 140 and aluminium utensils scrap 133.
