That said, customers buying Renault cars across the country will continue to get the option to extend warranty period on their cars, although, for an added sum of money.

In addition to the standard warranty of 2 years or 50,000 kilometers (whichever comes earlier), the extended warranty will add 2 years and 30,000 kilometers coverage on Renault cars sold in the country.

The prices for extended warranty across Renault’s model line-up is as follows,

Pulse (petrol variants) – Rs 6,150

Pulse (diesel variants) – Rs 6,300

Scala (all variants) – Rs 7,450

Duster (petrol variants) – Rs 10,400

Duster (diesel variants) – Rs 10,650

Fluence (all variants) – Rs 19,200

Koleos (all variants) – Rs 26,500

The change in warranty coverage may come as a deterrent to prospective customers. Volumes for Renault’s already slow-selling models like the Scala, Fluence and Koleos may go down further, too.

On the brighter side, Renault will be updating its model range in India, including the launch of Lodgy MPV in our market. Additionally, the company has already started bringing updates to its current models as well.

In its attempt to lure more customers into the brand, Renault recently gave the Pulse hatchback a mid-life face-lift with additional equipment like automatic headlamps, driver seat height adjust and steering mounted controls.
