Yamaha has launched the revamped version of it’s premium 150cc commuter, the SZ- RR. Termed as ‘SZ-RR Version 2.0’, the bike now features ‘Blue Core’ technology, which recently made it’s debut in the updated FZ/FZ-S Version 2.0 a couple of months ago. The bike was launched during the grand finale of the ‘Mission 10000 km’ ride conducted by Yamaha Motor India, at YMC A ground in Chennai. Yamaha has priced the new SZ-RR Version 2.0 at Rs. 65,300 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Yamaha SZ-RR Version 2.0 is now powered by the four stroke, air cooled, 149cc engine, which was introduced in the updated FZ Version 2.0. The engine on this motorcycle is now blessed with ‘Blue Core’ technology, which has enhanced the rideability and fuel efficiency of the motorcycle. The new engine is the rebored version of that of the previous model’s 153cc mill, and now develops 12.1PS of power and 12.8Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission unit.
Apart from this major mechanical change, the bike also features a few cosmetic changes, which consist of better quality switchgear with engine kill switch, ‘SZ’ logo on the handlebar holder in the middle and new tubeless tyres. The updated motorcycle is now available in three color options of Red Dash, Green Arrow and Ivory White. The rest of the components including diamond type frame, alloy wheels, analog instrument console, suspension combination of front telescopic forks and rear coil springs and a front disc brake have been carried away from the outgoing model. The Yamaha SZ-RR Version 2.0 is pitted against the entry-level 150cc commuters like Bajaj Discover 150, Honda CB Unicorn and Suzuki GS 150R.
