In front of a huge gathering of lawyers and teachers Friday, Gujarat BJP president CR Paatil felicitated five women employees of the Surat Municipal Corporation who cleaned up the streets of Surat even during heavy rain. Earlier this week, Minister of State for Home, Harsh Sanghavi, had posted a video of a safai karmachari woman picking waste on a rainy day. The audience gave the women - Jagruti Patel, Vaishaliben Patel, Lalita Jadav, Chanchal Solanki and Ganga Uttam Rathod - a standing ovation. Since the past couple of days, videos of these women doing their job diligently had gone viral in the local circles in Surat. The local BJP unit identified these women and invited them to the lawyers and teachers' meeting.
