Tribute paid to Sufi saint Shahbaz Kalandar in Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir, Feb 15 (ANI): Sufi culture society in collaboration with Kashmir society Aetiqaad organized a day-long event in remembrance of the Sufi Saint and poet Shahbaz Kalandar at Heewan village of Baramulla district in the state Jammu and Kashmir. The event was held on the second death anniversary of the mystic Sufi Saint. The main aim of the event was to promote peace, unity and brotherhood among different communities of the state. A large number of people and poets participated in the event to pay their respects to the legendary work of the Sufi Saint. During the event, speakers highlighted the importance of Sufi culture and the contribution of Sufi saints and famous poets of the state. Kashmiri singers and poets also enthralled the audience with their performance in the memory of the Sufi saint. Later, a poetic collection of Shahbaz Kalandar was also released on the occasion. Sufism in India stands for unity and harmony among the people of different communities. Such events help in maintaining peace and unity across the country.
