Daughter of filmmaker Ravi Tandon, she debuted in the 1991 action film Patthar Ke Phool, winning the Filmfare Best Female Debut award. Her early success solidified with leading roles in commercially successful action films like Dilwale (1994), Mohra (1994), Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi (1996), and Ziddi (1997).
