Her glamorous style and impeccable fashion sense cemented her status as a trendsetter, transcending mere acting roles. Babi's career trajectory began with Charitra (1973), followed by notable performances in Majboor (1974) and the breakthrough role in Deewaar (1975). Her filmography boasts a string of successful films, including Amar Akbar Anthony, Suhaag, Kaala Patthar, The Burning Train, Shaan, Kranti, Kaalia, and Namak Halaal. A testament to her popularity, she became the first Bollywood star featured on the cover of Time magazine in 1976. Her final film appearance was in Irada (1991) before her retirement from acting. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Babi’s personal life was extensively covered by the media. She remained unmarried despite high-profile relationships with Kabir Bedi, Danny Denzongpa, and Mahesh Bhatt. Later in life, she faced public struggles with paranoid schizophrenia and diabetes, along with osteoarthritis of the knee. Parveen Babi passed away on January 20, 2005, due to multiple organ failure. Her legacy in Bollywood, however, continues to be celebrated for her significant contributions to the golden age of Hindi cinema.
