Senior Himachal Pradesh IAS officer Padam Singh,who to retire this month,passed away in Chandigarh,after a brief illness,on Tuesday.

Following incidence of violence in local colleges,the Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) on Thursday asked student organisations to observe the guidelines issued by the high court and maintain peace in the campus.
