Jaya Prada: A Cinematic Legacy and Political Journey Jaya Prada, born Lalitha Rani Rao on April 3, 1962, is a prominent Indian actress and politician. Her career, spanning the late 1970s to the early 1990s, saw her grace Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali, and Marathi films. Leaving the film industry at its zenith, she entered politics in 1994, joining the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). From 2004 to 2014, she served as a Member of Parliament (MP) from Rampur, Uttar Pradesh. Her cinematic achievements are numerous. Three Filmfare Awards South highlight her talent, with wins for Best Actress - Telugu in Sagara Sangamam and special awards for her roles in Siri Siri Muvva and Anthuleni Katha.
