Karnataka HC rejects habeas corpus petitions of actress Ranya Rao, co-accused in gold smuggling case

DRI arrested 11 people, including the mastermind behind the racket, which allegedly smuggled gold to India to melt in covert furnaces and illegally sold the refined bullion on the grey market.

As per figures shared by the Customs department, Delhi, during the financial year 2025–26 (up to October 15), it has seized 26.269 kilograms of gold valued at Rs 24.68 crore.
