Basanta Kumar Panda, a prominent figure in Indian politics, is a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader from Odisha, India. He is the incumbent member of the parliament of the Kalahandi Lok Sabha constituency. He was born on May 12, 1961, in Bhawanipatna, Kalahandi, Odisha, to the Late Shri Laxmi Prasad Panda and the Late Smt Khitisuta Panda.

His political career began with his involvement in the BJP. He served as the District President of the BJP in Nuapada for two terms. His leadership skills were recognised, and he was subsequently appointed as the Vice President of the BJP in Odisha for two terms.

In recognition of his contributions to the party, Panda was elected as the Secretary of the BJP in Odisha. He also served as the Executive Member of the BJP Odisha State Membership Incharge. His dedication to the party and his leadership skills led to his appointment as the State President of the BJP in Odisha from 2016 to 2020.

His political career took a significant turn when he was elected as a Member of the Odisha Legislative Assembly for Nuapada. In 2019, he was elected as a Member of Parliament in the 17th Lok Sabha, representing Kalahandi, Odisha.
