Welcome back, folks, for PBKS' response with the bat. The umpires and players are out in the middle. Hardik Pandya leads his men out as MI players spread out to the field. For Punjab Kings, it is the opening pair of Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh, with the latter being brought in as the impact sub in place of Vyshak Vijaykumar. Trent Boult has the new ball and is raring to go.  Arya to face Boult first up. Off we go...

Well then, 185 is the magic number for Punjab Kings to secure a top-two finish. Par or under-par? Usually, in high pressure games where everything is on the line, and as SKY said in the chat, having runs on the board is a huge positive. Yes, the pitch is a bit so-so for batting, but Mumbai Indians have got a fighting total nevertheless. Arshdeep Singh, Marco Jansen and others have done the job for PBKS and it is now time for the likes of Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult to test the batters. How will the young dynamic opening pair of the Kings adapt against high quality MI pace attack? A strong start is all what will set the tone for either of the two sides. Back in a bit for the second essay.

Suryakumar Yadav of Mumbai Indians is up for a quick chat with the broadcasters. He says it was a little challenging. He felt the wicket was a little sticky but overall good to bat on. He thinks they are 10-15 runs short, given how Hardik, Will and Naman were batting. But he feels that having runs on the board in a pressure game always helps, and he feels it's a fighting total. He mentions, pace off deliveries will work on this wicket and it won't be an easy chase. He says he's happy with his innings. He tells his favourites today were sweeps, flick, but he feels him batting till the end was the most important thing.

In the end, it was all about SKY’s brilliance. Offered a reprieve while batting on 45 off a dropped catch, he went on to score a sensational fifty. SKY and Naman Dhir opened the floodgates with a 23-run penultimate over against Vyshak Vijaykumar. Until that point, MI were well within touching distance of getting past 190, however, Arshdeep Singh spoiled their party a bit in the end, giving away just three runs in the final over.

Wickets kept tumbling in the crucial 7-15 over stretch, with three key batters departing, leaving MI with just 79 runs in that phase. Just when things seemed to be slipping away, Suryakumar Yadav took charge with relentless intent to keep MI in the fight. Hardik Pandya provided a stabilizing presence, injecting momentum, but even he couldn't convert his start into something substantial.

PBKS may not have made early inroads, but their bowling discipline was impeccable. They stuck to sharp lines and lengths, using the bounce effectively to keep batters in check. The pacers ensured Mumbai couldn’t hit full throttle, limiting their charge to sporadic boundaries. Still, SKY and Rohit kept the scoreboard ticking, navigating the tricky middle overs with grit. The run rate stayed healthy at 8-9 per over, but Rohit, battling timing issues, eventually fell trying to break free. His departure triggered a mini-collapse, as Tilak and Jacks followed suit, turning MI’s solid 81/1 into a shaky 106/4.

Mumbai Indians took a calculated approach at the start, with Ryan Rickelton playing the aggressor while Rohit Sharma eased into his innings. Rickelton wasted no time in finding the gaps and keeping the scoreboard moving, but his promising knock was cut short before he could truly capitalise. The bowlers initially found some swing, but it disappeared within the first six overs, leaving the steep bounce at times as the key challenge for batters. By the end of the Powerplay, MI had reached 52/1.

There are very few bowlers across the globe who can get three yorkers right on the money in the final over. Jasprit Bumrah is, of course, the first name that pops up in everyone's minds, but the silent assassin, Arshdeep Singh, has built his own reputation of doing so, and that too, with ridiculous consistency. And to execute it against Suryakumar Yadav is just mind-boggling. All in all, it was a disciplined bowling show from PBKS, barring that penultimate over, and for Mumbai Indians, wickets kept tumbling, but it was SKY who remained till the last, helping MI to get to a respectable total.

Arshdeep Singh to Suryakumar Yadav, OUT! LBW! Arshdeep Singh ends the over in the best possible fashion! From over the wicket, the yorker is nailed by Singh at the base of the off stump. Suryakumar Yadav reaches out in front and tries to play the reverse scoop. He is beaten on the outside edge and the ball hits him on the boot. The finger is raised but SKY takes the review, more in hope than anything else. The Ball Tracking shows that the ball is clipping the off stump and it is umpire's call. Not as straight as it looked initially but the on-field call is upheld. MI finish with 184 on the board!

Arshdeep Singh to Suryakumar Yadav, Executes the yorker to absolute perfection at the stumps, Suryakumar Yadav backs away and squeezes it to the left of deep cover. Shashank Singh covers good ground in the deep but a fumble allows the batters to complete the second run with ease.

Arshdeep Singh to Naman Dhir, OUT! TAKEN! The final over starts well for Punjab Kings! Slower ball bowled into the wicket by Arshdeep Singh, Naman Dhir sets up for the pull but does not manage to get the power behind the shot and this was hit against the wind. It goes only as far as deep backward square leg where Priyansh Arya settles under it and takes it around his chest. Naman Dhir perishes on 20 (12) after playing a good cameo.

This certainly does not look like a 200 kind of wicket. Anything in the territory of 180-190 would be a good total. But for that, MI will need Suryakumar Yadav to bat till the end. So far, he has been the only batter who has respected the conditions and has adapted magnificently against a disciplined PBKS bowling attack.

Full marks to the way Punjab Kings have bowled tonight. Be it Marco Jansen, Kyle Jamieson, or Vyshak Vijaykumar - all have been disciplined so far and haven't let MI batters cut loose. However, it is important for them to chip away with regular wickets as Mumbai Indians bat deep and if you give them an opening, this is a side that makes the most out of it. STRATEGIC BREAK! Punjab Kings have done well to keep a lid on the scoring so far, thanks to their discipline with line and length. That said, Mumbai Indians won’t be too disappointed. With wickets in hand, they know they can make up ground quickly. The over before the break, which went for 15 runs, was their most productive so far. Could that be the spark they needed? He feels it’s a good toss to lose as he wasn’t sure of what to do, so they don’t mind batting first and they would be looking to put on a big total on the board. He tells that a lot of results have gone their way and it’s a great opportunity to play good cricket and they will be looking to play this one as a knockout game. He mentions they have made one change as Ashwani Kumar comes in.

The captain of Punjab Kings, Shreyas Iyer, says that he lets the actions speak more than the words and that he would just give some sort of motivation, but it is their job to go out and execute. Adds that you can't just take it as another day, as you have to keep updating your mind and game to put the best foot forward. Says there's hardly any scope for errors at this stage. He highlights that this has been the most consistent pitch of the season, yielding plenty of runs. Finch adds his perspective, pointing out that while the pitch favours batters, it hasn't provided much assistance to the bowlers. In the bowling department, the performances have been shared, where Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult have been the wreckers-in-chief, but other bowlers, too, have chipped in with some game-changing performances at different stages of the season.

The Punjab Kings have made it to the playoffs after 11 years, and now have a great chance to book their place in Qualifier 1.
