The 2023 ODI World Cup is the 13th edition of the cricket’s showpiece tournament. While the 2023 World Cup will be the fourth instance of India hosting the event, the Men in Blue have clinched the title two times so far.

Over the years, the World Cup has seen some devastatingly incisive bowling efforts. None of them can hold a torch to Australian pacer Glenn McGrath, who decimated the hapless batting order of Namibia at Potchefstroom in the 2003 edition of the World Cup. In the seven overs he bowled, he claimed seven wickets while giving away 15 runs at an economy rate of 2.14. Of his seven overs, four were maidens.

At the same edition of the World Cup, McGrath’s compatriot bowled the second most lethal 10-over spell at the showpiece event. He bowled his full quota of 10 overs against England and claimed seven wickets while giving away just 20 runs.

New Zealand's Tim Southee, who ran through the England team at the 2015 World Cup and by West Indian Winston Davis, who claimed seven for 51 against Australia at the 1983 World Cup.
