India is hosting the 2023 ODI World Cup, which is the 13th edition of cricket’s showpiece tournament. The tournament will be played across the length and breadth of the country. When India last hosted the event, in 2019, it was co-hosting the World Cup with its neighbouring nations. While the 2023 World Cup will be the fourth instance of India hosting the event, the Men in Blue have clinched the title two times so far.

While India won the 1983 World Cup in England, they clinched the title at home in 2011.

Before the 2023 World Cup began, New Zealand’s Martin Guptill held the record for most number of runs scored from fours and sixes in an innings. In his 237-run knock against West Indies on March 21, 2015 at Wellington, Guptill plundered 162 runs off hits past the fence in a devastating display of explosive batting.

Flamboyant southpaw Chris Gayle is second on the list for most number of runs scored from fours and sixes in an innings. He scored 136 runs in his 215-run knock off fours and sixes against a hapless Zimbabwe team in Canberra in the 2015 edition.
