Senior AAP leader Yogendra Yadav clarified his party's stand on divergent views within the new political outfit at a press conference in New Delhi even as MLA Vinod Kumar Binny launched fresh attack on Arvind Kejriwal. Yadav said that the party had over 1.5 million members and it was only the opinion of the party officer bearers and spokespersons that was relevant. (IE Photo: Amit Mehra)
"We came to know that many people (popular personalities from different fields including Captain Gopinath) have become the members of the Aam Aadmi Party,” said Yogendra Yadav at his press conference in New Delhi on Thursday. (IE Photo: Amit Mehra)
"It would be an extraordinary expectation to assume that all those 1.5 million members of the Aam Aadmi Party will have consensus on any major issue. Of these 1.5 million members, some are office bearers, some are official spokespersons. If they say something then that is the party's line," said Yogendra Yadav. (IE Photo: Amit Mehra)
Yogendra Yadav added that AAP welcomed the expectations and public focus because this is what will keep the government on its toes and that the party is committed to seeking public opinion on any major issue. (IE Photo: Amit Mehra)
Meanwhile, mounting yet another assault, AAP MLA Vinod Kumar Binny today accused the party of "cheating" the people of Delhi by backtracking on its election promises and called Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal a "dictator". (IE Photo: Amit Mehra)
The Laxmi Nagar MLA, who was sulking after being left out of the Cabinet last month, addressed a press conference where he slammed the leadership on a range of issues and said taking support of Congress to form the government was a "compromise of the party's principles". (IE Photo: Amit Mehra)
"You (Kejriwal) have become a dictator. Stop fooling the people of Delhi. All decisions in the party are taken in closed rooms by four-five people. Arvind gets angry if people express any differences with him. If anyone speaks against him, he starts shouting," Binny said. (IE Photo: Amit Mehra)
