"The exchange of ideas and knowledge systems from as early as the 2nd-3rd centuries CE have been preserved in handwritten manuscripts, crafted out of palm leaf, birch bark, or handmade paper. These historical records show us how texts connected different regions, linking disciplines, and the processes of synthesis through which knowledge evolved. This is a heritage that represents a diverse literature that goes beyond what we view as separate disciplines today, such as medicine, mathematics, linguistic science, and metaphysics," notes the press statement.
