Disney's upcoming fantasy drama The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, starring Keira Knightley, Mackenzie Foy, Helen Mirren and Morgan Freeman, is all set to hit the big screen on November 2.
The film is a retelling of ETA Hoffmann's short story The Nutcracker and the Mouse King and Marius Petipa's The Nutcracker Ballet.
The film's primary plot revolves around a girl named Clara (Mackenzie Foy) who one fine day finds a nutcracker doll among her belongings and is charged with its safekeeping. What follows next is a big splash of adventure and magic, Disney style.
Acclaimed actor Keira Knightley plays the Sugar Plum Fairy who hails from the Land of Sweets.
As her name suggests, Sugar Plum Fairy is sweet and especially warm with regards to Clara since she was friends with her mother Marie.
While Helen Mirren plays the evil and manipulative Mother Ginger, Morgan Freeman plays Drosselmeyer, the benevolent and all-knowing godfather of Clara.
