Aamir Khan’s dramatic transformations: The perfectionist in his different avatars

True to form, perfectionist Aamir Khan believes in immersing himself in every role he does, which includes changing his looks. The most recent being the one for his upcoming film Dangal. The 50-year-old actor will be seen playing a young Mahaveer in the movie. Aamir plays a fighter in this biopic on Indian wrestler Mahaveer Phogat. From a young college kid in 3 Idiots, to a beefed up look for Ghajini, or a mustachioed Mangal Pandey, the actor has undergone dramatic transformations for his many roles. Here are some looks from Aamir's past films that showcase his diversity. A look!

Dangal (2016) In the movie, which is to release on December 23 this year, the actor will play a wrestler and has been undergoing rigorous workout sessions for the same. He had to previously gain weight — going from 68 kg to 93 kg in six months — for his role of the ageing wrestler during the first phase of Dangal’s shoots. Following that, the 50-year-old actor had a weight loss target of 25 kg, before he could begin shooting for the next phase.

PK (2014) In this film, a humanoid alien, Aamir, lands on Earth naked on a research mission in Rajasthan.

Delhi Belly (2011) For Aamir, no role is too small to take on a challenge. He is value for money every which way he experiments. His promotional looks add to his legend.

3 Idiots (2009) In 3 Idiots, Aamir played a college-going youth, leaving the audience stunned as to how a 45-year-old could give the impression of some one half his age.

Ghajini (2008) Mr. Perfectionist Aamir went almost bald for his movie Ghajini and showed off his chiselled eight-pack.

Fanaa (2006) Aamir Khan Fanaa was a romantic crime drama film, directed by Kunal Kohli which had Aamir in an anti-hero role while Kajol played his love interest.

Mangal Pandey: The Rising (2005) Aamir's this film was an Indian drama film based on the life of Mangal Pandey.

Laagan (2001) Aamir played a villager named Bhuvan.

Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988) The young and vibrant Aamir was seen in the lover boy role.
