Top Bollywood actors who are highly educated

Richa Chadha: This talented actress is an alumni of St. Stephen's College, New Delhi, one of the best colleges in the country. She studied history there and then went on to get a post graduate diploma from Sophia College, Mumbai, in social communications.

Ayushmann Khurrana: The 'Vicky Donor' actor has a bachelor's in English literature from DAV College, Chandigarh, and a masters in mass communication from the School of Communication Studies, Panjab University. He is also credited with starting two theatre groups in his college, Aaghaaz and Manchtantra.

Kareena Kapoor Khan: Micro-computers' loss is Bollywood's gain! One of Welham Girls School, Dehradun's, famous alumni, the Kapoor scion was an economics student at Mumbai's Mithibai College, after which she pursued a three month course in micro-computing from Harvard University. She later enrolled for a course in law at the Government Law College, Mumbai, but dropped out after a year to pursue acting.

Kay Kay Menon: This poster boy for alternative cinema has a bachelors in physics from Mumbai University and an MBA in marketing from University of Pune under his belt. He initially started working with the advertising industry and has worked on brands such as Kinetic Honda and Marlboro.

Soha Ali Khan: The daughter of Bollywood superstar Sharmila Tagore and the ninth Nawab of Pataudi, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, who was also a former captain of the Indian cricket team, Soha entered Bollywood after graduating from Balliol College, Oxford, where she studied modern history. She later pursued masters from the prestigious London School of Economics in the field of international relations.

Amitabh Bachchan: The superstar of Indian cinema, Amitabh Bachchan is the son of Harivansh Rai Bachchan who was a celebrated Hindi poet noted for his poem Madhushala. Amitabh attended Sherwood College, Nainital and later enrolled at Kirori Mal College, Delhi University.

Ameesha Patel: The Kaho Na Pyaar Hai and Gadar actress is a brainiac! She initially enrolled for a course in bio-genetic engineering before shifting gears to the study of economics at the Tufts University, Massachusetts. Ameesha is also a trained Bharatnatyam dancer which she began learning when she was five years old.

Shah Rukh Khan: Bollywood's 'King Khan', SRK is a Hansraj College, Delhi University, product. He graduated in Economics and enrolled at New Delhi's Jamia Millia Islamia to pursue masters in mass communication which he had to leave mid-way allegedly due to attendance issues.

Vidya Balan: She has films such as The Dirty Picture, Kahani, Parineeta and Ishqiya under her belt. The powerhouse of talent has a master's degree in psychology from Mumbai University and a bachelor's in the same field from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai.

R Madhavan: The academic track record of 'Maddy' is impressive. He earned a scholarship and landed at Alberta, Canada, to represent the country as an ambassador for culture, an opportunity he recieved while studying at Rajaram College, Kolhapur. Madhavan was an exceptional NCC cadet as well, due to which he was able to bag an opporutnity to train under the British Royal Army, Navy and Air Force. He could not join the same, however, due to age criteria restrictions.
