MC polls likely by Nov

Elections to the Municipal Corporation are likely to be held early this year. The supplementary agenda for the meeting MC House meeting to be held on Friday says the elections will be held in October or November this year because of the non-availability of schools in September and December due to examinations. The elections of the civic body,held every five years,are usually scheduled December.

According to the agenda,the results will be declared in December.

It has also been decided that the delimitation of wards is to be done prior to that. A discussion is likely to be witnessed on the matter in Friday’s meeting.

The supplementary agenda contains the minutes of a previous meeting,which was attended by a representative of the State Election Commission,along with officials of the MC and the UT Administration.
