Crime branch veteran back as ACP

In a reshuffle in the state police on Monday,18 deputy superintendents of police (DSP) were transferred.

In a reshuffle in the state police on Monday,18 deputy superintendents of police (DSP) were transferred. Among them is Mayur Chavda,who comes back to the crime branch as assistant commissioner of police nearly eight months after he was shifted out to the state’s intelligence bureau in September 2012.

A veteran at crime branch,Chavda had assisted the probe into the 2008 Ahmedabad serial blasts,besides working on other high-profile cases.

DSP R K Patel,who is an accused in the 2006 Tulsiram Prajapati encounter case,has been shifted from CID’s NDPS (narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances) cell to Ahmedabad city as an ACP.
