According to EC data, Amethi recorded a turnout of 45.13 per cent till 3 pm, Faizabad 48.66 per cent, Fatehpur 47.25 per cent, Hamirpur 48.87 per cent, Gonda 43.23 per cent, Jalaun 46.22 per cent, Jhansi 52.53 per cent, Kaushambi 43.01 per cent, Lucknow 41.90 per cent, Kaisarganj 46.01 per cent, Mohanlalganj 51.08 per cent, Banda 48.08 per cent, Barabanki 55.35 per cent, and Rae Bareli 47.83 per cent.
Rahul Gandhi has reached Raebareli and will visit various polling stations across the constituency. He will start his tour from the polling booths in the Bachhrawan Assembly segment. After Bachhrawan, he will proceed to the polling booths in the Harchandpur Assembly area, followed by visits to other voting centres in Raebareli.
Prominent candidates include Defence Minister Rajnath Singh (Lucknow), Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Irani (Amethi), Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Kaushal Kishor (Mohanlalganj), Minister of State for Consumer Affairs Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti (Fatehpur), and Union Minister of State for MSME Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma (Jalaun). Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is contesting from Rae Bareli. Key contests include Union Minister and sitting MP Smriti Irani (BJP) facing off against Kishori Lal Sharma (Congress), a close associate of the Gandhi family. In another significant race, Rahul Gandhi (Congress) is up against MLC Dinesh Pratap Singh (BJP). Over 2.71 crore voters are eligible to vote in these 14 constituencies, with 144 candidates in the fray.

According to PTI reports, a voter turnout of 39.55 per cent was recorded till 1 pm in Uttar Pradesh where polling is underway for the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections in 14 constituencies.
Voting is also taking place for the Lucknow East assembly bypoll.
Polling began at 7 am and will go on till 6 pm.
According to the Election Commission, Amethi recorded a voter turnout of 38.21 per cent till 1 pm, Banda 40.20 per cent, Barabanki 44.77 per cent, Faizabad 40.77 per cent, Fatehpur 39.85 per cent, Gonda 36.67 per cent, Hamirpur 40.71 per cent, Jalaun 39.50 per cent, Jhansi 43.61 per cent, Kaisarganj 38.50 per cent, Kaushambi 36.25 per cent, Lucknow 33.50 per cent, Mohanlalganj 41.43 per cent and Rae Bareli 39.69 per cent.

During the fifth phase of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi urged voters in Raebareli and Amethi to vote in record numbers to support democracy, the Constitution, and development. She highlighted the region's history of service and dedication to democratic values. Voting began on Monday across 49 parliamentary constituencies in six states and two Union Territories.
In Amethi, BJP's Smriti Irani, who defeated Rahul Gandhi in 2019, faces Gandhi family loyalist KL Sharma. Rahul Gandhi is contesting from Rae Bareli and Wayanad. Sonia Gandhi previously represented Raebareli since 2004, and the constituency has been a stronghold for the Gandhi family.
Raebareli includes five assembly segments: Bachhrawan, Harchandpur, Raebareli, Sareni, and Unchahar. Amethi also has five segments: Tiloi, Salon, Jagdishpur, Gauriganj, and Amethi. Voting started at 7 am and will continue until 6 pm, with results announced on June 4. (ANI)

UP Lok Sabha elections Live Updates: BSP Chief Mayawati predicts change, urges focus on public welfare
BSP Chief Mayawati was among the first few leaders to cast their vote in Lucknow early on Monday morning. Taking questions from the media after voting, BSP Chief Mayawati said that she feels that this time there would be change. it has been observed in this election that unlike in the past when the election was being contested on the issues of the welfare of the country and its people, political parties are rather indulging in allegations and counter allegations. Maintaining that it is not the right trend, she made an appeal to political parties to focus on public welfare.
Sharing her observation as she informed how she is travelling not just in Uttar Pradesh but also in other states, the BSP Chief said that she feels that there would be a change this time as the public is silent and is just observing what is going on.
“Mujhe to lag raha hai is baar jaroor balava hoga…Konki Janta jo hai, woh silence si hai..” said BSP Chief Mayawati after she cast her vote in Lucknow.
On being asked about the claim of the BJP about “400 paar” and even the INDIA alliance making a claim to form the government, Mayawati said that all the political parties are making their claim but added that only results would tell the truth.
On the question of opposition targeting her for her action against Akash Anand, the BSP Chief said that she is not concerned about what others are saying and had said whatever she had to say on the issue on social media.
