A 36-year-old woman was allegedly raped and robbed by a homeless man inside her apartment building in New York early Sunday morning.

Kenneth Siriboe, 21, allegedly approached the woman around 5 am (local time) inside the residential building on East Gun Hill Road near Putnam Place. As per a report by The New York Post, Court documents state that Siriboe covered the victim’s mouth with one hand and squeezed her throat with the other before throwing her to the ground and repeatedly punching her, causing bruises, swelling, and cuts.

Siriboe then allegedly got on top of the woman and raped her as she pleaded, “No, no! Please stop! How much can I give you to make you stop?” the criminal complaint said, The NY Post quoted. After the assault, he reportedly grabbed the victim’s Coach purse and wallet, which contained $250 in cash, her ID, and her keys, before fleeing the building.

Footage released by the NYPD shows Siriboe running down the stairs of the building, pulling up his pants with a towel slung over his neck. It remains unclear how he gained access to the apartment, though sources quoted by The NY Post, said he was inside for a prolonged period.

Siriboe was arrested Monday afternoon inside another Bronx building roughly two miles from the scene. He faces multiple charges, including rape, robbery, burglary, grand larceny, and criminal obstruction of breathing. During his arraignment Monday evening, a judge set his bail at $30,000. Siriboe’s next court appearance is scheduled for Friday.

Authorities noted that Siriboe, whose last known address is in Union Beach, New Jersey, has no prior arrests in New York City.

The survivor was treated at North Central Bronx Hospital and is in stable condition. Police statistics indicate a rising trend in sexual assaults in the borough; as of Sunday, 399 rapes had been reported in the Bronx in 2025, up approximately 27 per cent from the 314 cases recorded during the same period in 2024.
