Putting an emphasis on the US commitment to Japan, Trump praised the new Japanese prime minister and added, “Anything I can do to help Japan, we will be there. We are an ally at the strongest level.” Both the leaders signed an agreement to implement “golden age” of their nations’ alliance.
The White House announced that US and Japan have signed minerals and rare earths framework agreement on Tuesday during a bilateral meeting between Trump and Takaichi in Tokyo. A joint statement read, “The agreement will help both countries to strengthen economic security, promote economic growth, and thereby continuously lead to global prosperity.”
Japan’s new PM Takaichi also nominated Trump for Nobel Peace Prize, saying, “In such a short period of time the world started to enjoy more peace. I myself was so impressed and inspired by you Mr. President.”
The gathering in Tokyo was also a moment for Trump to celebrate an expanded ceasefire agreement between Thailand and Cambodia, wherein the US president had threatened both the countries to stop their skirmish or America would withhold trade agreements with them.
