Weather Today: Parts of Delhi NCR receive sporadic rains
Weather Forecast Today update: Subdued rain activity has been predicted for Central India and remaining parts of North India, while peninsular India might receive isolated to scattered rain.

Weather Today: Parts of the national capital received rains Wednesday, while cloudy weather conditions prevailed. PTI reported that the Ayanagar Observatory recorded 10.9 mm rains. Some more areas recorded traces of rainfall. The precipitation and cloudy weather kept the temperature low. The maximum temperature hovered between 34 degrees Celsius and 36 degrees Celsius in most parts of the city.
The Safdarjung Observatory, which provides representative figures for the city, recorded a high of 36 degrees Celsius, a notch below normal. Humidity levels oscillated between 71 and 91 per cent.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said fairly widespread to widespread rain along with thundershowers is likely over Northeast and adjoining East India due to the positioning of the monsoon trough over the foothills of the Himalayas.
Subdued rain activity has been predicted for Central India and remaining parts of North India, while peninsular India might receive isolated to scattered rain.
The weather agency said maximum temperatures are highly likely to fall by 2-4 degree Celsius over plains of northwest India during the next 48 hours. However, no significant change in temperatures is likely over most parts of the country over the next 3-4 days.
The monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through centre of well marked low pressure area over Gulf of Kutch and neighbourhood, Deesa, Chittorgarh, Rajgarh, Sidhi, Churk, Hazaribagh, Baripada and extends up to 3.6 km above mean sea level.
IMD said that the cyclonic circulation over north coastal Andhra Pradesh and neighbourhood at 5.8 km above mean sea level persists.

Maximum temperatures are likely to fall by 2-4 degrees Celsius in the northwest part of the country.
Landslide warning in Shimla, Solan following heavy rains
The weather department on Wednesday issued a landslide warning for Shimla, Solan and adjoining areas following rains in most parts of Himachal Pradesh. Most parts of the state will continue to receive rain in the day, the weatherman said.
Shimla MeT Centre director Manmohan Singh said there is possibility of landslides in Shimla, Solan and adjoining areas. Solan received the highest 82 mm rain in the state from Tuesday 5:30 pm to Wednesday 8:30 am, followed by 54.3 mm in Jubbar Hatti, 48 mm in Dalhousie and 40.7 mm in Nahan.
Similarly Shimla witnessed 22 mm rain during the period, followed by Mashobra 16.8 mm, Chamba 16 mm, Mandi 15.1 mm, Kufri 14 mm, Una 10.4, Keylong 10 mm, Bilaspur 8.5 mm, Manali 5 mm, Dharamshala 2.2 mm, Palampur 2 mm and Kangra 1 mm. The MeT centre has predicted rains in the state till July 13.
