India Weather Forecast Highlights: The IMD has issued a red alert, warning of extremely heavy rainfall, in Bihar, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim for today. An orange alert, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall, has been issued for tomorrow in Bihar, Assam and Meghalaya as well. Parts of Delhi may witness light to moderate downpour today, as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Meanwhile, the Yamuna River is flowing at 207.25 metres today, dangerously close to the all-time record level of 207.49 metres that was reached in 1978. Flash floods triggered by heavy rains have damaged national highways and cut off electricity and water to the tourist hill station of Manali in Himachal Pradesh, stranding thousands of tourists — including several foreign nationals — in and around Kasol. Meanwhile, the Amarnath Yatra resumed yesterday afternoon after it was suspended for three days due to rain-triggered road damage. But the Kedarnath Yatra in Uttarakhand's Sonprayag and Gaurikund has been stopped due to continuous heavy rains.
