It goes without saying that social media is an extremely powerful medium. While people do churn out memes and jokes, the platform has helped shape social movements and, sometimes, even dreams.
Recently the hashtag #SRKMeetsAruna went viral on social media with the picture of a cancer patient, Aruna PK, on a hospital bed smiling warmly at the camera. Aruna, who celebrated six years of being a cancer survivor in March, had tweeted: “I am full of gratitude to Doctors, family and friends and last but not least @iamsrk for being source of strength he doesn’t even know he is.”
Soon people on social media shared the picture and urged the actor to respond. And believe it or not, the superstar did reach out to her.
The video of the actor sending an extremely heartwarming message to Aruna was shared on the Twitter page SRK Universe. Khan said that he got to know about Aruna’s health condition from her children Akshat and Priyanka, and added that he and his entire family are praying for Aruna. He also assured her positivity nature will help her get well soon.
“I know this for a fact the positivity that you carry around yourself that you will get well so soon that we will meet up together and I promise you when I meet up I will do your favourite song of mine,” the actor said. His gesture and message have won over people on social media.
While one user wrote, “This video made me so emotional, we need more of such kindness in today’s time,” another wrote that the actor won hearts with this message.
