A teen girl was attacked by a pet dog in a housing society in Sector 107 of Uttar Pradesh’s Noida. The now-viral CCTV footage shows the girl inside a lift, going from the fourth floor to the second floor.

Just as she tries to step out of the lift, a dog runs inside and bites her. The pet owner, startled, jumps into action, and separates the dog from the girl. He also kicks the dog in an attempt to get it out of the lift.

The dog runs out, and the owner is seen outside the lift. The girl quickly presses the ground floor key. However, the next moment, the door opens. The owner is now not seen, and the dog tries to enter the lift again. The girl, shaking in fear, presses the close button frantically. In a few moments, she exits on the ground floor, rubbing her injured arm.

The video was shared by an X user Jyoti Karki. “Dog attack a teenager in Noida sector-107 society. #Noida #dogattack,” she wrote.

Shared on May 7, the video sparked an outrage against dog owners. Reacting to the video, a user commented, “It’s high time RWA and Noida administration should have some policies regarding Dogs domestic as well as Stray.. otherwise kids will suffer..” Another user commented, “Pet owners should be imposed a minimum fine of Rs 50000/- appart from medical expenses, in case of any injury to others from pet.”

“If it was a pet dog, the owner should have kept it on leash and also put a muzzle. If it was a stray, the security is at fault for allowing it inside the lift. Request all dog lovers to not trivialise the matter. Tomorrow it can be your child at the receiving end,” a third user reacted.

In a similar incident reported last month, a German Shepherd attacked a six-year-old girl riding her bicycle at Ajnara Integrity Society in Ghaziabad.
