Google is marking the commencement of Mahakumbh Mela 2025 with a special touch on its search page. When you search for terms like “Kumbh,” “Maha Kumbh,” “Kumbh Mela,” or “Mahakumbh,” a beautiful animation of rose petals gently falling across the screen appears. This gesture celebrates the grand event in Prayagraj.

The animation can be replayed and shared with others via email, Facebook, X, or WhatsApp. There’s also an option to dismiss the animation.

As the official Mahakumbh account on X shared, “Google search engine uniquely celebrates the commencement of Maha Kumbh 2025 at Prayagraj. When you search Maha Kumbh it will shower petals on the screen in honour of Maha Kumbh.”

In the comments, many X users shared what Mahakumbh means to them. One user wrote, “The event reminds us of the power of spiritual practices in life.” Another user wrote, “The sense of devotion and spirituality at Mahakumbh is contagious.”

Mahakumbh Mela, one of the world’s largest spiritual gatherings, is underway at the Triveni Sangam –– where the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati river meet –– in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj. This grand fair, which draws millions of pilgrims each year, began on January 13 and will run until February 26. Devotees flock to the Sangam to take a holy dip in hopes of achieving moksha or salvation and purifying themselves in the sacred waters. Within just the first two days, nearly five crore people arrived, and the Uttar Pradesh government anticipates a total turnout of 40 to 45 crore by the end of the Mela.
