Chandrika Gera Dixit, popular as Delhi’s viral ‘Vada Pav Girl’, recently became an overnight internet sensation with her food cart startup. Dixit, who reportedly quit her job due to her son’s health, is all over the internet and has collaborated with other viral sensations, including Bigg Boss OTT 2 fame Puneet Superstar and Nagpur’s Dolly Chaiwala. As her popularity soared, videos of her competitors setting up vada pav carts in Delhi have been circulating online.
In a viral video shared by a food vlogger Foodie Maneha on Instagram, Delhi’s ‘Vada Pav Girl’ can be heard saying in Hindi, “Yesterday aunty said she put her cart because I was not there. Look, she is here today as well. Why would someone sabotage someone’s business?”
As the video progresses, the ‘Vada Pav Aunty’ admits she set up the cart a day earlier. Speaking about ‘sabotaging’ Dixit’s business, she defends herself saying she’s just doing her work and came here after ‘Vada Pav Girl’ went viral in Delhi. “Taste matters. We both are offering taste,” she says.
