A shocking video of a car falling from the second-floor parking lot in Pune’s Viman Nagar has raised concerns over building safety. The incident occurred on Sunday morning at Shubh Gateway Apartment.
The now-viral CCTV footage captures a white car entering the premises. Moments later, the wall of the second-floor parking lot gives way, sending a sedan plummeting in reverse. A security guard, standing just a few meters away, narrowly avoids the collapse as onlookers rush to the scene.
According to a report by Lokmat Times, the driver misjudged while parking, resulting in the vehicle striking the wall and causing its collapse. The report also stated that emergency services promptly arrived at the scene, securing the area to prevent further incidents.
Sharing the video, Jist News wrote, “A car accidentally engaged reverse gear and plunged from the second-floor parking of Shubh Apartment in Viman Nagar, Pune, on Sunday morning at 10 AM. The incident was caught on CCTV footage, showing the vehicle falling to the ground below.”

The video quickly gained traction on social media, sparking a debate on construction safety.
“That building definitely needs a structural integrity assessment,” one user commented. “Okay but how fragile the wall was?? I don’t think car was that fast,” another user said.
“This shows the construction quality,” a third user wrote. “Builder should be prosecuted for such construction, this car can fall on a living being. He has to made that wall RCC or install Steel barriers to hold any vehicle with such collision impact,” another user said.
