Cellular data on your smartphone is important so you can connect to your mobile carrier’s network and make WhatsApp phone calls, check emails, stream music and videos, use Google Maps, and more if you don’t have access to an internet connection. But what if your cellular data isn’t working? You can usually fix it with a few easy steps. We will show you how to do it on your Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

  1. 01

Turn off and turn on mobile data

While this might sound like a very rudimentary troubleshooting method, in most cases, this technique is enough to bring back internet connectivity. Before doing this, just ensure that mobile data is actually turned on from the quick settings panel.

  2. 02

    Enable and disable flight mode

Quickly enabling flight mode on your smartphone will automatically turn off and disconnect all wireless networks, and will automatically reset network issues. By simply disabling flight mode, the mobile network should start working.

  3. 03

    Restart the smartphone

Restarting your smartphone will also fix some networking-related issues. Only do this if the first two guides do not yield a positive result. While doing so, you can also remove the SIM card and reinsert it, just to ensure there is no issue with the SIM card itself.

  4. 04

    Reload and reinstall the app

If you can't access the internet on a specific app, then force closing the app and reopening might do the job. In certain scenarios, you might also have to uninstall and reinstall the app from either the Google Play Store or the Samsung Store.

  5. 05

    Select 4G/5G network type

Make sure you have opted for the 4G/5G network type and are not set to just 5G, as the 5G network is still unavailable in most locations. If your network supports 3G/2G networks, you can also try switching to them, especially if you have issues accessing mobile data in remote locations. Also, ensure that both the phone and the SIM card are compatible with 5G technology, especially if you are trying to access a 5G network.

  6. 06

    Change access point

You can also try changing the access point from the connections setting menu and selecting the right access point from your network provider. While this used to be a bigger issue a few years ago, with 4G and 5G networks, smartphones are smart enough to automatically select the best access point.
