Wynk introduces Dolby Atmos music catalogue for Android and iOS devices

Wynk Music is getting Dolby Atmos support, the music streaming platform announced Wednesday. The Airtel-owned Wynk Music has partnered with Dolby to introduce the Dolby Atmos music catalogue.

Wynk has said that the music catalogue from Yash Raj Films (YRF), Saregama, Phonographic Digital Limited (PDL) will be available in Dolby Atmos format in eight languages.

“Our partnership with Dolby combines Wynk’s core strengths of an extensive library and superior music delivery with a never-before audio experience in Dolby Atmos will certainly enhance user experience immeasurably,” said Edwin Charles Albert, Head – Content and Partnerships, Airtel Digital.

Users can enjoy Dolby Atmos tracks on the latest version of the Wynk Music app on supported Android and iOS devices. According to the company, Dolby Atmos technology “delivers artistic expression at its fullest capacity, forging a deeper connection between artists and their fans.”

Whether listening at home or on the go, nothing takes listeners right inside the song like Dolby Atmos.”

Launched back in 2014, Wynk Music is currently the number one music stream app in India in terms of downloads and daily active users. Within a year of launch, the company clocked over 12 million installs. Wynk Music subscribers can now enjoy select music in Dolby Atmos format for free of cost.

Airtel users can get a free Wynk Music subscription by recharging specific plans. Similarly, the rest of the users can opt for the subscription of Wynk premium annual at Rs 399/- or Wynk premium monthly at Rs 49/-.
