Tecno launches Phantom V Flip 5G, its 1st flip phone at Rs 49,999

The device will be launched in India on October 1 and will be going live on an early bird sale on Amazon on the same day. The Phantom V Flip 5G will come at a special price of Rs 49,999. The flip phone comes in Mystic Dawn and Iconic Black colour options. 

Besides, the brand also has plans to introduce fragranced protective cases for the smartphone. The case comes with fragrant microcapsules that have been embedded into the leather production process. The scent is released slowly with pressure, friction heating, or natural diffusion. Tecno claims that the scent can last for over a year under normal usage conditions. The scented cases will be available in Rose, Sea Shore or Cologne options.

The Phantom V Flip 5G is said to be Tecno’s first device to have the all-new HiOS 13.5 operating system, which is based on Android 13. The new OS allows users a host of customisations, from image editing to smart widgets. It also has intelligent features such as the ELLAGPT personal assistant. 

The Phantom V Flip 5G comes with a 32MP dual-flash Autofocus Front Camera which the company claims to be the ultimate solution for low-light selfies. It comes with an industry-first Micro-slit Dual-flash backed by Tecno’s Super Flashlight algorithm to offer the perfect lighting and exposure. 

The device comes with a centrally positioned 1.32-inch AMOLED screen which has been designed for easy one-thumb control. It offers convenient swiping from all angles. The device features a 6.9-inch FHD+ 2640×1080 main screen. The display is flat and crease-less owing to Tecno’s self-design drop-shaped hinge. It has a 10-120Hz LTPO refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling (both single and double finger) that amounts to fluid viewing and low power consumption. 

When it comes to power, the Phantom V Flip 5G is blacked by a 4,000mAh Super Battery. There is a 45W Flash Charging too that will ensure the device powers up instantly. Tecno says the device can reach up to 50 per cent battery life in just 15 minutes of charging. 

On the performance front, the flip phone comes with MediaTek Dimensity 8050 5G chip. The 6nm TSMC chip ensures a smooth operation across applications. The Phantom V Flip 5G comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The device also supports extended memory of up to 8GB.
