Reliance Jio announces new prepaid plans with OTT benefits, launches JioBharat J1 4G feature phone

Reliance Jio today unveiled 3 new prepaid plans with OTT benefits and unveiled JioBharat J1, a new 4G feature phone that costs Rs 1,799.

Earlier this month, Reliance Jio announced a price hike for almost all prepaid plans and discontinued several prepaid plans that offered access to popular OTT platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime and more. Now, it looks like the company is bringing back some of these plans to fill the gap. Here’s a quick look at the new plans that let you watch content from popular OTT platforms.

The cheapest among these new prepaid plan from Jio costs Rs 329 and offers 1.5GB per day. Similar to other plans, you get unlimited voice calls, and 100 SMS per day. This plan has a validity of 28 days and gives you access to JioSaavn Pro.

Next is the 949 plan, which comes with 2GB of daily data along with benefits like unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day. It has a validity of 84 days and comes with a complimentary Disney+ Hotstar subscription for 90 days.

Similar to the aforementioned prepaid plan, the Rs 1,049 plan comes with 2GB data and 100 SMS per day, unlimited voice calls and a validity of 84 days. But instead of Disney+ Hotstar, you get access to Sony LIV and ZEE5. One thing to note is that all these plans also offer access to JioTV, JioCloud and JioCinema.

JioBharat J1 4G feature phone now available on Amazon

Reliance Jio also launched JioBharat J1 4G, a new feature phone with apps like JioTV, JioSaavn, JioPay for UPI transactions, JioChat and JioPhotos. The phone has a 2.8-inch display and packs a 2,500mAh battery. It runs on ThreadX RTOS and has a single SIM slot that is locked to Jio. You also get a microSD card slot that lets you expand the storage up to 128GB and a physical keyboard that supports 23 languages including Bangla, Gujarati, Hindi and Marathi to name a few.

The cheapest JioBharat J1 4G plan, which costs Rs 123 offers 0.5GB data per day and comes with a 28-day validity along with unlimited voice calls and 300 SMS. If you want an annual plan, the Rs 1234 plan offers the same benefits but has a validity of 336 days.

With both plans, you get complimentary access to JioSaavn, JioTV, and JioCinema (not Premium). It can be purchased on Amazon for Rs 1,799 and is available in dark grey.
