Microsoft has finally made its art generator, Cocreator, officially available in the classic Paint app for Windows 11. This means anyone can easily conjure up original images simply by describing what they want to see.

Previously, Cocreator was only available to Windows Insiders testing early releases. But now the nifty text-to-image generator has rolled out to all users. The technology is powered by OpenAI’s DALL-E model.

To access it, just open a new Paint project and click the “Cocreator” button on the toolbar. Then type a description of whatever rad image you want generated. The AI will cook up three options for you to pick from.

Microsoft has already integrated DALL-E’s advanced image generation into some of its other products like Bing and Copilot. But baking it into Paint may make the feature more accessible and user-friendly for everyday folks.

For newbies, Microsoft also tossed in a handy 4-step tutorial to get started with AI artistry. Though heads up – some users may still need to join a waitlist before firing up Cocreator. There’s also a limitation on the number of images you can generate in a day – each time you generate an image it uses up 1 credit out of the 50 you receive when you sign up.

For now, Cocreator is only available in the United States, France, the UK, Australia, Canada, Italy and Germany. If you reside in these regions but don’t see it yet, make sure your Paint app is updated and sign up through the side panel.
