Google recently announced that it is rolling out new features for the Google TV Streamer, smart TVs powered by Google TV, Chromecasts with Google TV and even third party Google TV streamers.

The tech giant said these new functionalities will be available in the coming days with the biggest upgrade being the new Home panel, which allows users to control all their devices connected to Google Home. This means you can turn on/off or dim/brighten things like lights, adjust the AC temperature without having to put down the TV remote.

The company is also bringing several Gemini powered AI features that were initially limited to the Google TV Streamer. This includes Content Overviews, which offers summaries, reviews and season by season breakdown of the shows you are watching and the ability to generate screensaver art using AI. The AI art feature will be coming to TVs from Hisense and TCL and smart projectors from Epson, Vankyo and XGIMI.

Google is also adding a new Sports Page under the “For You” tab that tries to aggregate all your sports content from available services. However, it is currently limited to those living in the United States.

Last year, Google launched the Google TV Freeplay app, which offers 150 free channels. Now, the app is getting an updated channel guide making it easier to browse channels by genre or topic. The tech giant also said it is bringing Google TV to more countries like Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines and Vietnam.
