In the age of information technology, everything revolves around search engines and the ways we search for information. Google, which is one of the search engine leaders in the world, is known for constantly innovating its services to offer the most tailored experiences to its vast user base.
Last month Google announced that it was making numerous updates to Search to help users explore diverse perspectives for experts to ordinary people. On Saturday, the search giant in a tweet said that the feature is now available for users to try. The new feature shows different outlooks, mostly human in search results. These perspectives will be displayed in a tab named Perspectives.
In its blog post last month, Google said that users can tap the filter and will be able to exclusively see long and short-form videos, images and posts that people have shared on discussion boards, Q&A platforms and social media sites.
A video on the feature shared by Google shows a tab that includes YouTube Videos, tweets, websites, TikTok videos, Quora results and even reddit posts. The new Perspectives tab gives the look and feel of the Pinterest page, just with Google results from various sources in place of pins. The feature seems like Google’s way of preventing users from flocking to other platforms.
According to Google, one of the ways Search helps users make sense of the world is by connecting them to the widest range of viewpoints.
“Helpful information can often live in unexpected or hard-to-find places: a comment in a forum thread, a post on a little-known blog, or an article with unique expertise on a topic. Our helpful content ranking system will soon show more of these “hidden gems” on Search, particularly when we think they’ll improve the results,” Google said in its blog post.
