BSNL, the state-owned telecom service provider, has announced a new scheme letting users share their data with up to four other users. This so-called “community charging” seems like a bid to win back pre-paid users.
There were reports that this offer will include 20GB of mobile data for just Rs 50. However, BSNL has since denies these reports. In a statement given to Digit, a senior BSNL official said the state-owner service provider had no such plans.

BSNL has of late been trying to woo customers with a host of freebies. For instance, the company offers free calls between 9PM and 7AM in most circles.
Edit: An earlier version of this story said BSNL was offering 20GB for Rs 50. The copy has since been updated.
