The upcoming phones will sport the latest flagship MediaTek and Qualcomm chipsets. (Express Photo) Vivo seems to be gearing up for the launch of its upcoming Vivo X100 flagship series. Similar to its predecessor, the company might launch 3 models – the Vivo X100, the Vivo X100 Pro and the Vivo X100 Pro Plus. However, the Vivo X100 Pro Plus is expected to launch sometime next year. From camera to processor, here’s everything we know so far about the Vivo X100 series.
The Chinese smartphone maker will reportedly use the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset on the Vivo X100 and Vivo X100 Pro, which is expected to perform similarly to the recently announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
Recently, a Vivo device with the model number ‘V2309A’ was spotted on the Chinese social media platform Weibo with an Antutu score of over 2.2 million. While it is unclear if this is the base X100 or the Pro variant, the device comes with 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The listing also suggests that the device will run on Android 14 out of the box.
Another notable change is that the upcoming Vivo flagship phones will sport 16GB of LPDDR5T RAM, which is currently the fastest version of DRAM available on the market. The X100 series might support 120W fast charging.
However, the Vivo X100, which is expected to hit markets sometime in 2024 might go with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
On the camera front, the Vivo X100 is confirmed to feature a customised version of Sony’s LYT800 sensor with the company’s V3 imaging chip. The 53MP camera sensor is expected to offer low light performance similar to existing 1-inch sensors. Vivo also confirmed that the upcoming smartphones will have a new Zeiss Vario-APO-Sonnar lens on the periscope lens, which will reportedly improve the photo quality compared to the X90 Pro+.
The Vivo X100 Pro Plus is expected to pack a 50MP Sony IMX989 as the primary sensor, a 50MP IMX598 ultrawide camera and a 50MP IMX758 portrait lens. It might also include a 200MP Samsung HP3 telephoto periscope lens with 10x zoom. All phones are expected to come with a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate.
