Apple Intelligence will support Indian English, but only in 2025

Apple Intelligence will be rolled out to eligible iPhones, iPads, and Macs via a future software update.

Apple has just confirmed that Apple Intelligence will soon support more languages such as French, Japanese, Spanish, and even Indian English. However, to use Apple Intelligence in Indian English, you will have to wait until next year (2025). This news comes just a day before the iPhone 16 series goes on sale in India and across the world.

According to Apple, the iPhone 16 series is built for Apple Intelligence from the ground up. However, out-of-the-box, the latest iPhones do not ship with Apple Intelligence, as the company is still fine-tuning it.

Apple Intelligence––which includes features like ChatGPT-powered Siri, Clean Up, writing/editing tools, and more––will be rolled out to the iPhone 15 Pro series and the iPhone 16 series with the iOS 18.1 software update.

When is Apple Intelligence coming to India?

As of now, there is no exact information on the launch date of Apple Intelligence in India. iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS 15.1 updates will enable Apple Intelligence on eligible iPhones, iPads, and Macs, given the device language and Siri language is set to US English, which is expected to happen in November. However, those who use Indian English on their Apple devices might have to wait at least until early 2025 to experience Apple Intelligence, and the wait time is possibly even longer for those who use Indian regional languages like Hindi or Kannada.
