Dyson, on Thursday, launched its first dedicated cord-free wet floor cleaner, the Dyson WashG1. The company claims that their latest offering has been engineered for hygienic cleaning and maintenance. The new cleaner, priced at Rs 64,900, effortlessly handles wet and dry debris in one go.
The WashG1 comes with a one-litre tank and it uses a combination of hydration, absorption, and extraction methods to clean wet and dry debris in one go. The device automatically separates it out, making maintenance easier. The WashG1 covers a 3100 sq ft area in a single charge. The cleaner can be purchased from Dyson.in and Dyson Demo stores across India.
Talking about the latest innovation, Charlie Park, vice president of Dyson Home Engineering, said, “Most of us vacuum our homes regularly. But whilst wet cleaning is considered a necessary chore globally, many of us don’t know why we do it beyond the vague notion of hygiene. In fact, cleaning with water is essential to rehydrate and remove tough, dried-on stains. Over the years, a vast array of wet floor cleaning formats has emerged to help us tackle this chore yet users’ expectations are often left unfulfilled when it comes to stain removal, pick-up performance and floor finish.”
Park said that Dyson engineers solve the problems that are ignored by others and that they thrive on the challenge of creating better technology. “The Dyson WashG1 is the result of this; our first dedicated wet machine to wash hard floors, properly and hygienically.”
The device comes with advanced cleaning technology featuring two counter-rotating and highly absorbent rollers that ensure efficient absorption of dirt and liquid. The rollers are made of microfibre with 64,800 filaments per cm² and are capable of absorbing spills while trapping dry debris and hair. According to the company, its unique design ensures maximum stain removal by offering longer dwell time on surfaces with each pass.
On the other hand, to enhance hygiene, Dyson’s separation technology separates debris from dirty water. The system deploys durable extraction plates and nylon-bristle brush bars to flick dirt into the removable debris tray. The dirty water is collected in a 0.8 litre tank which also prevents large debris from clogging the system. Moreover, owing to its design, the device minimises dirt build up, and the self-cleaning mode saturates both rollers for easy maintenance.
The Dyson WashG1 also comes with hydration control with three cleaning modes such as low, medium, and high and three sensitivity settings which allows users to customise the hydration settings based on the floor and debris type.
