Adobe, on Tuesday, announced its latest global initiative to expand Adobe Digital Academy’s vision to enable next-generation learners and teachers with AI literacy. The announcement was made at the ongoing Adobe Max 2024, the world’s largest creativity conference. The initiative aims to equip learners and teachers with skills in AI, content creation and digital marketing, essential skills to succeed in the modern workforce.
The company claims that the new programme will offer training, certifications, and access to Adobe Express to help 30 million learners from around the world to develop these in-demand skills by 2030.
Talking about the initiative, Stacy Martinet, vice president of marketing strategy and communications at Adobe said, “Adobe’s mission has always been to design products that create opportunities and empower people from all backgrounds to change the world.”
Martinet said that the company wants AI to bridge the digital divide and not widen it. “This program will open doors for emerging professionals to succeed in the future workforce with AI literacy, content creation, and marketing skills,” she added.
For the programme, training and certificates will be available via the software giant’s collaboration with Coursera, NGOs, K-12 schools, colleges, universities, and alternative education organisations. Adobe will also be funding scholarships and NGO grants to ensure that professionals from all backgrounds can benefit from the training, tools, and direct pathways to future careers.
Moreover, Adobe has committed over $100 million this year in donations, scholarships, product access, and partnerships across this programme and other initiatives to enable people and organisations around the world.
When it comes to the curricula, Adobe’s programme covers topics such as Generative AI Content Creation, Creative and AI Skills, with information on using AI responsibly and ethically, social media content, multimedia content, content marketing, and multi-channel content and advertising. With these, learners will gain the experience to create high-quality content with ease with the use of Adobe’s tools.
The first set of courses are now available on Coursera and learners can pursue Content Creator and Graphic Designer Professional certificates with additional certificates in Digital Marketing available in early 2025. Besides, Adobe is also committing $250,000 in scholarship licences which will be distributed through nonprofits in the first year of the programme to access Adobe courses and certificates on Coursera. The coursework will soon be available on Adobe Express and is in development for the Behance community.
