Tottenham’s Brazilian forward Richarlison continued his penchant for scoring worldies when he slammed his side’s first goal against Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday. In the 55th minute of the North London derby, Richarlison latched on to a ball a little inside the Arsenal half. With the Gunners goalkeeper David Raya off his line, Richarlison’s eyes lit up as he attempted an audacious shot from a little ahead of the centre circle.

The ball floated towards the goal with Raya back-peddling but the Spaniard could do little as the ball dipped at the right time, evaded the keeper’s gloves and nestled into the net. However, the goal was all Spurs could take away from the match with the league leaders absolutely thrashing their rivals 4-1.

Richarlison’s stunners

In August, Richarlison had rolled back the years to the 2022 FIFA World Cup when he scored a bicycle kick for Tottenham against Burnley which was almost identical to the one he had scored against Serbia in Qatar almost 2 and a half years ago.

Richarlison, who had already scored the first goal of the match when he struck in the 10th minute before pulling out the outrageous skill to double Spurs’ lead in the 60th minute. Both the goals were assisted by Mohammed Kudus who was bought from West Ham in the ongoing transfer window. Tottenham ultimately went on to win the match 3-0 with Brennan Johnson scoring the 3rd in the 66th minute.

In 2022, Richarlison’s bicycle kick was voted as the goal of the tournament. Richarlison had his back to the goal when he used one touch to flick the ball up in the air near the penalty spot, then spun around and leaped off the ground to deliver a spectacular acrobatic kick into the net. It helped Brazil win 2-0 win over Serbia in the group stage.
