Delhi Dynamos coach Josep Gombau blamed individual errors for the side's 2-0 loss against NorthEast United FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Tuesday. Late goals from Federico Gallego and Bartholomew Ogbeche helped the visitors take the top spot of ISL 2018-19 after a thrilling match in the capital. Delhi were outplayed by Eelco Schattorie’s men, Gombau defended his side by saying that even though the result is disappointing, their play was not. He further blamed individual errors for the loss in the match. In their second goal, Pritam Kotal lost the ball to Gallego in the middle, who assisted Ogbeche for the winning goal during extra time. “Disappointed by result but not play. We started strong, had our moments in the game. Individual errors cost us the match. This is a short league. We need to work well, work hard and improve. We need to get the job done for us,” he said after the match. Commenting on training and playing conditions in Delhi due to the increasing pollution, Gombau said, “As foreigners we are not used to the pollution. You can see players using masks. But we are training and I know it is not easy to adjust your body to the condition but we are working hard. We have not changed any tactic so far. We have been training normally so far.” Eelco Schattorie started by apologising for his remarks the last day in Delhi by saying he did not mean them. He had said that if he was Delhi’s coach, the team would have been in the top three by now. Schattorie had analysded Delhi’s game play ahead of the match. “Chose more of a direct game, analysed Delhi, saw where their weaknesses part. The first half, we hardly gave any chances away. In the second half, eventually we got those two goals and we deserved it,” he said. “Extremely proud of where we are as we faced a lot of obstacles at the start of the season. I admire Delhi. But today we employed a forward approach and that worked for us. The players and the staff can be extremely proud of where we are,” he added.
